  1. I think you are estimating the vole population by using the measurement of total voles in Nova Scotia and then making a proportion to your half hectare.

    The place that you laid the trap is a good area because it is hidden underneath what looks to be a log. This offers protection from predators because it offers covering from high above. Another good place would be in or around bushes and in hollowed out logs.

    I think it would affect them because the temperature isn't so cold, causing more of them to survive since the weather isn't so severe. This could be connected to global warming due to the increase of greenhouse gases.

    An increase in the vole population might endanger the primary producers. With little primary producers there would be less oxygen and would ruin the balance of the ecosystem.
